Free the Snake Flotilla & River Recreation Day
Music, Food, Speakers & a Rally on the River!
8 a.m. October 3rd
Wawawai County Park, near Pullman, WA
Join Northwest fishermen, tribal members, boaters, orca lovers and other river advocates for a rally on the river in support of removing the 4 lower Snake River dams for salmon, for people, for orcas. Be seen, be heard and show the Snake River some love!
Bring a boat if you can or borrow one at the event. Experienced and novice boaters encouraged to come. And if you don’t want to get on the water, come show your support from shore!
Wild salmon and steelhead have died by the thousands this summer from lethal hot water behind the dams. Four of the most lethal dams are on the lower Snake River. These four aging, outdated dams are costing taxpayers and killing salmon. It’s time to tell our elected leaders to remove these four to restore a river and recover salmon.
Wawawai County Park is a 15 minute drive from Pullman, WA.
Coffee and snacks starting at 7 am. The Flotilla begins at 10 am. Options will be available to paddle down to Lower Granite dam, put in right above the dam or just cheer from shore! Music and speakers after!
Friday activities: Educational opportunities and other events will be announced soon.
After the flotilla: Barbecue in the park and evening music event in Pullman in the evening. Details soon.
